On 7 November 2024, the AJFVC Project team conducted a pre-departure orientation for the Knowledge Co-Creation Program (KCCP) “Enhancing SPS Measures and Pesticide Residue Analysis”, which will be held in Japan from 17 to 26 November.
The orientation was led by Dr. Yasuhiko Muramatsu, the team leader of Output 2 of AJFVC, and Mr. Shunichi Nakada, Senior Advisor for Agriculture Policy at JICA Headquarters, delivered a presentation on the “Positive List” system in Japan. This regulatory framework prohibits the distribution of food products that contain agricultural chemicals exceeding specified limits.
This session aimed to enhance the participants’ understanding as they prepare for their upcoming study tour in Japan so that the participants can fully make the best use of their stay in Japan.
